Tofino Salmon and Halibut Offshore Frenzy

Canada Day fireworks have started a few days early this year for Tofino Salmon and Halibut Fishermen.
The offshore waters along the Tofino and Ucluelet coastline have been fantastic for Chinook Salmon and Halibut this week, bringing on an early celebration for many. Clayoquot Ventures Guides Derek, Chuck and Blake have been producing great catches and happy clients, with a few noteable highlights. On June 29th and 30th, Derek hosted repeat guest Chris Bysterveldt from Red Deer Alberta, landing numerous Halibut, with 5 Halibut over 50 lbs.
The group lost count of Chinook Salmon released at over 30, with the largest Chinook Salmon in the 35 lb range. Many Coho Salmon were released as well during these two great days of charter fishing in the Tofino area.
Clayoquot Ventures Guide Marcus Deering has been providing great Saltwater Fly fishing action for charter guests this week for Coho Salmon in the 4-10 lb range. The protected inshore waters of Clayoquot Sound provided some of the best June fishing in recent memory, for Saltwater Fly fishing as well as for light tackle.
Fantastic Fishing in Tofino

Tofino's Saltwater Fishing for Chinook, Coho Salmon and Halibut has been phenominal for the the Tofino area.
Most activity has been offshore for Chinook and Halibut on our half day or full day offshore charters.This month has been the best start to our Saltwater Fly fishing for Coho Salmon that we can remember. Coho Salmon in the 4-7 lb range are common, but we have seen most recent Fly caught Coho in the 7-9 lb class hitting our Saltwater Streamers and Bucktails. Last week alone, one of our Saltwater fly boats landed three large Chinook Salmon as a huge bonus, all on an 8 weight fly rod.
The action for Tofino Saltwater Fly fishing and Tofino Fishing Charters will only intensify as the season progresses.
