Popular Sport fishing show enjoys great fishing and filming with Clayoquot Ventures in Tofino
June 12th, 2006
"British Columbia's world famous recreational Sport Fishing industry receives more great exposure"
With the support of Tourism B.C. and the Tourism Association of Vancouver Island, Clayoquot Ventures Guide Service and Clayoquot Vista Guesthouse, located in Tofino, played host to the popular Sportfishing show "Fishing Alberta and Beyond" during the first week of June.
Show host Scott Rawlings and Calgary Flames assistant captain and veteran defenseman, Rhett Warrener, enjoyed 3 fantastic days on the water with Jay Mohl, owner and head guide of Clayoquot Ventures in Tofino. Jay and his wife Lorrie hosted the group at their private guesthouse, Clayoquot Vista, along with some great local dining at some of Tofino's finest restaurants.
The group filmed two action packed days for Chinook Salmon and Halibut on the waters offshore from Tofino, as well as a very unique and memorable day for a fly in fishing trip to film in one of Jay's favourite pristine mountain lakes for Rainbow Trout.
"One of the very best experiences we have ever had fishing and filming" was the remark from Scott Rawlings, show host and producer of the popular fishing show. This was the show's first coverage on fishing coastal B.C., and Rawlings also acknowledged the fact that his viewership was one of B.C's prime tourism markets.
A past client of Clayoquot Ventures, Rhett Warrener is already planning his next trip back to the Island, hopefully before training camp in August.
The Saltwater and Freshwater shows will air early in 2007, on the A channel and Global Television in Edmonton and Calgary Alberta, along with various television networks across North America.
